Front - End Software Developer - Parallel HR Solutions (Park City, UT) in Salt Lake City, Utah For Sale

Our client provides employee health benefits to small companies in America and they are looking for a Front-End Software Developer to contribute as a member of the software development team and report to the CTO. A FrontEnd Software Developer is responsible for the user’s experience and interactions with the company’s webbased services and mobile applications. We have a “green field” where we are writing a new system from scratch with a small team, so an ideal candidate is someone who can own the complete user experience and help drive technology decisions.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for user interaction design and the quality of overall user experience delivered by software released by the team.
- Participate in API design, documentation, and implementation to ensure that APIs are sufficient for UX needs.
- Collaborate with stakeholders and end users to define requirements and acceptance criteria related to the user experience.
- Collaborate with a user experience designer and/or customers to prepare wireframes and/or mockups of the company’s web and/or mobile applications.
- Based on wireframes and/or mockups, implement a functional user interface for the company’s web and/or mobile applications.
- Use multivariate and/or A/B testing to measure the impact of UX changes and respond to user engagement accordingly.
- Collaborate with stakeholders and the rest of the software development team to define requirements, acceptance criteria, and milestones for software projects.
- Provide accurate estimates for the delivery of software based on requirements and acceptance criteria. Proactively communicate to management and other stakeholders if and when estimates are shown to be inaccurate.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure that releases meet the established requirements and acceptance criteria.
- Understand any regulations pertinent to the software being developed and ensure compliance with said regulations, including HIPAA and PCI.
- Assist in technical interviews for open software development positions.
Skills and Experience:
- 3+ years of experience with object-oriented JavaScript.
- 3+ years of experience with HTML, CSS, jQuery.
- 3+ years of experience with REST APIs. API design experience is a plus.
- Experience with Grunt or Gulp, Angular, React, Ember, Dart, Backbone, or Node.js is a strong plus.
- Experience with LESS or SASS.
- Experience with responsive design and mobile web. Native mobile development experience is a
plus.
- Experience with version control systems. Git experience is a plus.
- Experience with cloud computing is a plus, for example AWS or Google App Engine.
- Experience developing software in a collaborative team setting.
- Experience with Scrum. Kanban experience is a plus.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Design experience is a plus.
