Under the direction of the Administrative Director and in consultation with the Medical Director, performs Diagnostic Radiological and MRI examinations which, involves a variety of technical procedures to apply prescribed ionizing radiation and magnetic fields in MRI for radiological diagnosis. Performance of above mentioned procedures often requires independent judgment, ingenuity and initiative to best demonstrate the anatomy of interest. Responsible for patient care, comfort and completion of required procedures. Must have advanced knowledge of the complexities of MRI equipment. Must have a working knowledge of life-saving techniques and be capable of performing well under pressure. Assumes the responsibility for specified examinations. Assumes the responsibility of introducing the basics of diagnostic radiology and MRI technology and procedures to the staff and student Technologists. Is responsible for the assessment, treatment or care appropriate to the ages of the patients served, i.e. Adolescent, Adult and Geriatric. Demonstrates the ability to obtain and interpret information in terms of the patient’s needs; possesses knowledge of growth and development and has an understanding of the range of treatment needed for these patient groups.
