We are looking to create a whole new intranet, and are currently eyeing SharePoint as our host. Below you'll see our scoping document with all details.
The GTS Intranet will be a company-based tool where employees can communicate, learn, and share all company content. Upon signing into your computer, you will be directed to the GTS Intranet Portal (or home page). Our new Intranet will be regularly updated and will be the single primary source for all employee information needs. There would be a sidebar where you can find regular links to commonly used sites (see below for a preliminary list). The Intranet Portal will also include Regular Features , which are items that will be constantly in rotation and updated (see below for a preliminary list of regular features). Some items will be included as a regular feature will no longer be shared via email and will be available within the Intranet Portal to highlight the item and allow employees to review the information on their own. Another regular feature, found at the top of the Portal, will be a scrolling banner for quick updates and messages.
The tabs on the top of the Intranet would be department sections including Engineering, Consulting & Compliance, Project & Integrity Management, Los Angeles Operations, Business Services, Human Resources, and Accounting. This is where each department will share information unique and relevant to their group (within their own home page).
